Governance

The Institute shall be governed by a board of directors who will be charged with establishing operational by-laws and overseeing the activities of the Institute. The board of directors will meet at least twice per year with an executive committee assuming functional responsibility between meetings.

A broad-based advisory committee shall be established reflective of the regional, gender, disciplinary and cultural diversity within our communities. Some members of the advisory committee will also represent the working groups established at the State of the Black World Conference. The advisory board shall advise the board of directors and staff on policy and practical issues relating to IBW’s programs, resource enhancement and development. The advisory board shall meet at least once per year.
