The Institute of the Black World 21st Century (IBW) is alarmed at the recent violent and militaristic attacks by agents of the US government on the offices and homes of several members of the Uhuru Solidarity Committee and the African People’s Socialist Party. IBW condemns these unwarranted aggressions and stands in solidarity with the Uhuru Solidarity Committee and the African People’s Socialist Party. These raids are both illegal and immoral and have sent shock waves across the US reparations and social justice movements.

The Uhuru and Uhuru Solidarity Movements have a long and successful history of reparations work and of serving the Black community. This predawn FBI raid with flash grenades, battering rams, military weapons, unlawful detentions, and seizures of organizational property, etc. reminds us of the dark days of COINTELPRO. This is unacceptable harassment, terrorization, and repression by the U.S. government and its agencies of organizations engaged in peaceful and law-abiding community activism.

IBW supports Uhuru’s demands for immediate return of all property seized illegally and for compensation for all damages incurred.
