Resolving the U.S. Provoked Crisis in Cuba: Normalizing Relations with Our Neighbor.

On September 16, 2026, IBW/PAUD convened Resolving the U.S. Provoked Crisis in Cuba — Normalizing Relations with Our Neighbor at the Historic New York Avenue Presbyterian Church in Washington, D.C. The national forum brought together advocates, elected officials and international voices in support of ending the U.S. fuel embargo and economic stranglehold on Cuba and advancing Cuban sovereignty and self-determination.

Special Guest and Keynote Speaker Dr. Ralph Gonsalves headlined the forum. Announced participants included Congresswoman Yvette Clarke, Congressman Gregory Meeks, Congressman Jonathan Jackson, H.E. Carlos Fernández de Cossío, Deputy Foreign Minister of Cuba, Dr. Julianne Malveaux, Dr. E. Faye Williams, Dr. Monique Swift, Dr. Renata Hedrington-Jones, Mel Foote, Thandiwe Abdullah, Kim Poole, Milton Allimadi, James Early, NY State Senator James Sanders, Jr., Rev. Robert Turner, and leading members of the Congressional Black Caucus and Progressive Caucus.
