In my essay With Gratitude to Biden: Time to Rally Around Kamala Harris, I predicted that when President Biden stepped aside and passed the torch to Vice-President Kamala Harris, it would be an “electrifying” moment in the history of this nation. I was right. Biden’s gracious withdrawal and glowing endorsement of Vice-President Kamala Harris has sparked an explosion of excitement, optimism, energy, commitment and joy unprecedented in recent history.
It’s like an earthquake has unleashed a tsunami. The selection of a brilliant, joyful, multiracial Black woman as the Democratic candidate for President has unleashed a giant Rainbow Wave of Black women, Black men, White Women, “White Dudes,” people of color nationalities and yes, young people who are rising-up to crash head-on against the malignant wall of MAGAISM constructed by the Orangeman aka Agent Orange; a wall that is a clear and present danger to Democracy as we know it.
That Rainbow Wave has grown even larger and stronger with the selection of Tim Waltz, the folksy, likeable, mid-western Mr. every man/woman, who has the personality and capability to unite rural and urban voters. Get ready, a giant, growing Rainbow Wave is coming to victoriously sweep across America to defeat the anti-democratic forces of MAGISM and cleanse the systems of this society from racism, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia, antisemitism and white supremacy. A marvelous Rainbow Wave is coming to wash away the barriers, obstacles and impediments on the pathway to “a more perfect union.” Rise-up, stand-up and join the Rainbow Wave to rescue democracy! #RainbowWaveComing
