It appears that the bloody, genocidal collective punishment and war against Palestinian human beings in Gaza is finally coming to an end for now. The assault began to punish Hamas for the savage attack and murder of some 1,200 Israelis, the majority of whom were civilians, including women and children, on October 7, 2023. The undetected attack was also an embarrassing lapse of intelligence by the famed Mossad, Israel’s national/international intelligence agency on the watch of Benjamin “Bibi” Netanyahu, the wannabe Prime Minister for Life, who has been indicted for crimes in Israel. He is also beholden to ultra-right extremist parties to maintain his retrograde coalition government.
The assault against Hamas immediately morphed into a genocidal war against the entire Palestinian population. Bibi ordered a total blockade of shipments of food, water, medical supplies and fuel into Gaza. Bibi also unleashed the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to indiscriminately bomb hospitals, medical centers, schools, churches and mosques that resulted in the deaths of upwards of 70,000 human beings including large numbers of women and children. This gruesome ledger of violation of human rights constitutes war crimes under international law. These horrific facts render Bibi Netanyahu a war criminal under international law, a Gangster.
Nothing, certainly not the threats by former President Biden was able to stop Bibi’s criminal actions, in part because a democratic president chastising and threatening to punish Israel would certainly have provoked harsh attacks by powerful, rightwing Christian Evangelicals who comprise an indispensable base for the MAGA controlled Republican Party.
But no such constraints or political shackles existed for Donald J. Trump aka the Orange man aka Agent Orange, the authoritarian, wannabe President for life, Nobel Peace Prize craving convicted felon, a Gangster; an unabashedly greed-driven, unscrupulous “dealmaker” eager to continue to enrich himself, his family and friends; a Gangster whose son-in law Jared Kushner had cleverly built business relationships with filthy rich, eager to add to their wealth, authoritarian, retrograde rulers of Arab and Muslim nations in the Middle east. It took this chemistry of corruption and criminality, plus the massive and growing opposition to and isolation of Israel internationally that finally created the conditions for a truce.
Trump the Gangster threatened Bibi the Gangster and forced him to sign-off on a cease fire, a truce, without fear of attack by his slavish MAGA Republican base; a truce which will pave the way for the kind of multi-billion-dollar deal-making that Trump relishes. Hence, the truce is a positive if precarious outcome of the interaction of two Gangsters, the Orange man and Bibi. #DealBetweenGangsters
