Back in the day, there was a popular men’s hair preparation called Brill Cream that was so strong, so powerful, so effective that its motto was, “A Little Dab Will Do Ya.” Well, the Professor is here to warn President Joe Biden that a Brill Cream Strategy won’t do it; it won’t galvanize the massive Black voter turn-out in key battle ground states and beyond urgently needed to beat back, defeat, crush the racist, white nationalist, dangerous, retrograde, malevolent, evil forces of the MAGA Mad Movement commanded by the Devil, the Orange man aka Agent Orange.
Plagued by abysmally low poll numbers because of his age, poor messaging about the amazing accomplishments of his administration, disorder at the border, the failure to demand that Bibi Netanyahu permanently cease the slaughter of Palestinians in Gaza and lukewarm support among Black voters, especially young Black voters, the Biden re-election campaign is in deep trouble.
Under these dire circumstances, Biden desperately needs a massive turn-out from the Democratic Party’s most loyal and reliable base, Black voters. Biden dare not, must not take Black voters for granted by dropping a little dab here and a little dab there in terms of advancing additional policies specifically and explicitly directed at addressing issues of vital concern to Black America, the Black Agenda.
A little dab here and a little dab there of resources to mobilize Black voters won’t do either, nor will occasional ceremonial, symbolic campaign stops like the recent ones in South Carolina. Biden needs to appeal directly to Black voters even more than he does to alienated, grievance-laden White working-class voters who have long since abandoned the Democratic Party. They will not ride to the rescue of the embattled, endangered Biden re-election campaign. Black voters will.
But to succeed, Biden needs to double down, triple down even on motivating Black voters to march on ballot Boxes in record numbers to achieve a historic victory over the forces of racism and reaction; a victory that can keep the pathway to a more perfect union open. However, that prospect, that victory will elude Biden and the nation if he persists in pursuing a Brill Cream Strategy in his posture towards Black voters. A little dab just won’t do it! #Respect and Protect Black Voters
