Don Rojas, Director of Communications for the Institute of the Black World 21st Century (IBW), announced today that Dr. Ron Daniels will join Fatiyn Muhammad and Jennifer Jones Austin, Esq., as a Guest Host of Open Line, the popular, highly informative and influential talk show that airs Sundays, 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM on WBLS, 107.5 FM in New York.
Dr. Daniels, whose radio handle is “The Professor,” will be a Guest Host the first Sunday of every month, beginning May 2, 2021.
“I am excited to be associated with such a powerful medium for engaging with our community in these critical times,” Dr. Daniels said when asked about the opportunity to be a guest host for Open line. “It’s an honor to continue the tradition of radio activism popularized by the likes of the legendary Bob Slade, the inimitable ‘Third Answer’ James Mtume and my longtime friend, the provocative Judge Bob Pickett. I just want to add my voice to the program as the “Fourth Answer,” Dr. Daniels continued.
Dr. Daniels, who hosts his own radio show ‘Vantage Point’ Monday’s 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM on WBAI, 99.5 FM on the Pacifica Network, is expected to share his perspective and expertise on a range of issues of vital interest to people of African descent on ‘Open Line’ — from reparations and gentrification to police and criminal justice accountability, Black political empowerment, Haiti, and Pan Africanism – much of which are a part of the programmatic work of the Institute of the Black World 21st Century, where he serves as President.
These issues are also captured in his book, Still on This Journey: The Vision and Mission of Dr. Ron Daniels.
